Rudraksha is the foundation of almost every mala from Mala Spirit. The bead is the stone of the fruit of the rudraksha tree, Elaeocarpus ganitrus. The name means ‘tears of Shiva’. According to legend, Shiva shed tears of compassion during his meditation. Where they touched the earth, they crystallised, and from them grew the rudraksha tree. Rudraksha purifies the mind and gives us peace of mind. This gives us the opportunity to experience and carry out the positive changes we wish for in our lives. Rudraksha is a symbol of compassion and spirituality. Our rudraksha comes from sustainable plantations on Bali and Java and is fair trade, and no tree is ever cut down to make a mala. In all our malas we use the five mukhi bead. Read more about its meaning, the mukhi and care in our article about rudraksha mala beads. Here you will find every rudraksha mala necklace and bracelet by Mala Spirit.
